We’re seeking a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant in North Florida to help injured workers return to work through comprehensive vocational rehabilitation services. This is a contract position with the flexibility to work remotely and travel throughout North and Central Florida.

Job Description: 
We are seeking a Vocational Rehabilitation Consultant in the North Florida area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive vocational rehabilitation services to injured workers, helping them in the return-to-work process.  This role requires an understanding of rehabilitation counseling principles and peer reviewed methodologies for vocational rehabilitation. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct Reemployment Assessments and Reemployment Services as defined by the Florida Workers Compensation statute.

• Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans based on vocational assessments and goals.

• Completion of transferable skills analysis and labor market surveys to assist with planning for and assistance in returning the injured worker to work. 

• Provide counseling and guidance to assist injured workers navigate return to work.  This may include identification of career goals, interviewing skills, job search skills, identification of appropriate job openings considering the injured workers' vocational factors.

• Collaborate with employers to facilitate job matching and reasonable accommodations in the workplace.

• Coordinate with healthcare providers to obtain and/or clarify cognitive and physical restrictions.  

• Monitor the injured workers progress, adjust rehabilitation plans as needed, and document all services provided.

• Prepare written reports and maintain accurate records in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
   

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling.

• Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), and/or Certified Vocational Evaluator(CVE)  certification is required.

• Strong understanding of vocational rehabilitation principles, job placement and accommodations for individuals.

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

• Excellence in report writing.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Familiarity with labor market trends in North Florida is a plus.

 

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in job placement or employment services for individuals with disabilities.

• Knowledge of community resources and programs supporting rehabilitation efforts.

• Knowledge of the Florida Workers Compensation Statute as it relates to vocational services.

• Ability to effectively manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.

 

Compensation:  Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience as this is a contract position.
